The past two issues of the Hockey News contained some info that
might interest some of you.

THE CENTRAL SCOUTING BUREAU rated the top American college players

2) Ben Coughlin, LW, HARVARD
3) Gus Gardner, RW, HARVARD

note: my best guess is they're rating players who havent been
drafted by an NHL club.

UND forward Jace Reed was released from Grand Rapids hospital after undergoing
an (apparently) sucessful liver-kindey transplant. Reed collapsed
from severe dehydration during a 10K training run. He is currently
undergoing rehab at his home. Grand Forks (ND) city leaders have raised
almsot $30,000 to help pay for Reed's medical expenses. Reed wont return
to UND this year but will earn his degree next yr.

THN NAMED THE ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN TEAM. Since, college is supposed to be
about education (I repeat, supposed) I think they deserve mention.

Mike Gikmore, G, Mich St.	3.51 in engineering
Angelo Libertucci, G, Bowling Green	3.93 in premed/bio
Jim Montgomery, C, Maine	3.37 in business management

BOWLING GREEN ASSISTANT DIES. BGSU assistant coach Terry Flannagan died on
12/29 of cancer. He was 35. He served as Jerry York's assistant since
1981 as BGSU won national titles in 1984. Flannagan graduated from UNH and
is survived by his wife and two daughters.
