Has anyone else noticed this? (I really hope not... it probably means that
like me, you don't have a life -- you actually spent enough time looking at
this week's CCHP)
I've listed below all the teams that have a higher "Road Total" than a
"Home Total," taken from Eric Carlson's ranking list.
CCHP ratings, 01/19/97 (check out Home Total vs. Road Total)
> ------- OVERALL ------- HOME ROAD

Observations:
-- 3 of the 4 "killer road teams" are listed above. Only Colo. College
maintains a higher Home Total (1.43, .92)
-- The ECAC really must kick butt when playing in other team's barns.
Breakdown by league:
ECAC - 6 teams
WCHA - 4 teams
CCHA - 3 teams
HEA - 2 teams (and, they travel fewer miles than any other league)
-- Talk about neighbors:
Both of the Alaskas play better on the road.
Both SLU and Clarkson play better on the road.
Total Parity:
-- Just over one-third of the teams in the league are "stronger" on the
road than they are at home.
-- 8 teams have winning records, 8 teams have losing records.
-- 7 teams face a "tougher" schedule; 9 face a "weaker" schedule.
Man, I've got waaaaaaaaaaaay too much time.
