There has been a Big Red Freakout every year since then too.
Everyone still wears red but noisemakers aren't given out any
more.  I think towels and handkerchiefs (appropriately decorated,
of course) were the souvenirs the last couple of years.  It's
still quite noisy during the Freakout game, however.  At least
there aren't any rules about shouting, whistling, and clapping
yet.
