===========================================================================

The good news for Wisconsin is that the power play came alive, and
the Badgers continued (from last Saturday) to score with confidence. The
bad news is that they let Colorado College back into the game, when they
had the lead 5-0 in the second period.

Blaine Moore got his first Wisconsin hat trick, with two nice
breakaways and an easy tip-in that was the end of CC goalie Frank.

Jason zent had to almost identical back-to-back powerplay goals. Ater
working the puck nicely, Kelly Fairchild pased from the left point to
Barry Richter on the right point. Frank came out too far to play
Richter's shot, who instead passed to Zent comming across the red line
from corner, for an easy tip-in. Fairchild was added to the #1 powerplay
unit this week, for his puck handling skills.

Wisconsin came out flying in the second period, recording 4 goals in
4:41.

Derksen appeared to be having some concentration problems, and his
defense let him down a few times. CC's first goal came on a line change,
Nelson taking a fast shot from the center red line, past two Badgers
skating for the bench, and hitting just inside the post with a big
"thunk" heard by everyone (it hit hard enough to pop right out again,
but there was no doubt it was a goal).

CC coach Brad Buetow pulled Frank after Wisconsin's 6th goal, putting in
Badalich, who looked much sharper.

With more than 3 minutes to go, trailing 7-4, CC pulled its goalie on a
5-on-4 power play (which soon became a 5-3 powerplay). They did not
score, but Wisconsin only had one clearing shot that came close to the
net. CC was called for a man in the crease, moving the faceoff out of
the zone, and Badalich came back in.

Referee Greg Shepard didn't make too many controversial calls, but also
didn't seem to energetic. Several times he didn't move at all to try and
see the puck, instead blowing the whistle with the puck lying alone a
few feet from the net (and a Wisconsin player reaching for it). He let a
lot of hooking/holding/interference go, but called a few, inconsistantly.
