First, LeAnn and I really had a great time meeting old friends and Hockey-L'ers
last weekend. Now that reality has set in, allow me to note my observations:

1) Providence was an EXCELLENT host; could be summed up as "small enough to
know you, large enough to serve you." The shuttles, sidewalk service, and
banners created a great (and convenient) atmosphere. Too bad it couldn't have
been a little warmer; I'm sure the sidewalk business would have been much
better. I read that Cincy had 11 "observers" present. Hope they took good
notes.

2) Hats off to organizers of the Hockey-L buffet. As the UM-UM game went on I
really thought that it wouldn't be worth our time to head for Players, but it
sure was nice to have somewhere to go where the line was short, the beer was
cold (I'd had these Homer Simpson type daydreams about a brew from the end of
regulation on), and the conversation fantastic. Food was great; thanks again.

3) Had the great fortune to have Coach Buddy Powers and Brian "Hobey" Holzinger
on our flights out of and returning to Toledo. Each trip required an hour lay
over in Pittsburgh, just a nice amount of time to chat (sort of like an "Up
Close and Personal" segment). Good luck with the Sabres, Brian! We're very
proud of you as a hockey player and a class individual. And good luck for 95-96
Coach; we're looking forward to that early-season visit from RPI.

4) Oh yes, the games. I'm glad to say that I'll be one of 50,000 college hockey
fans who *claim* to have been at that UM-UM classic (except, of course, 11,500
or so of us really were). Although I was pulling for Michigan (conference
you know), I had a hunch that this was BU's year. They impressed me in the
Beanpot telecasts, and even more so in the way they handled LSSU. Congrats
Terriers! Now Wolverines, please try to stay out of those damn overtime
affairs (I'm not getting any younger).

Best wishes to all of our friends and "family" in Hockey-L and College Hockey
Fanatics. Seeeeeeee ya!
