Contrary to prior information that was put out on the network, Clarkson's
new arena is 85' by 200'. It seats 3000 with entry from above the top
row of seats. There are no boxes, only a press box on one side of the
arena. Opposite the press box is a room that can seat about 150-200 for
dinner with a large glass area over-looking the ice. This room is called
the Barben Room, named after a major contributor. The benches are on
opposite sides of the ice with the penalty boxes both on the home bench
side. The hockey arena is part of the Cheel Center which is a student
center with mail boxes, dinning area, game room, student offices, a
24hr convenience store and several large open study areas. Rico was
correct the hockey arena is not yet named - they are looking for one more
large contributor.
