From what I've heard, both the Reg Season and Tourney champs get
automatic NC$$ bids, if they are indeed different teams.  Since at least
two teams from each conference are supposed to go (at least according to
the post that had Princeton being selected over Wisconsin for that
reason), this eliminates the "CC problem" of last year, while still
allowing for a team to play its way into the NC$$'s with a run in the
conference tourney.
 
So, it appears that according to the NC$$, there could be two champions
in a given conference this year.
