Welcome to the ECAC Women's Ice Hockey League, Bowdoin College. 8^) We
knew there would be afternoons and nights like this one.

Northeastern dominated Bowdoin over the final two periods to come away
with a 14-1 victory in the Polar Bears' first game in the ECAC Women's League.

Bowdoin was behind 2-0 at the end of a first period that actually was
pretty even, despite NU's 16-3 shots advantage.

But, the Polar Bears were relying on two forward lines in this game, and
they were tired at the first intermission. NU dominated most of the final
36 minutes, although the Polar Bears did have flashes of solid play
(especially for the first five minutes of the third period, when play was
contained mostly in the NU defensive zone).

Ten Huskies scored goals, and 15 NU players scored at least one point in
this game (Very balanced scoring.) Catherine Cataldo '98 scored three
goals and one assist to lead NU, while Dori Hoagland '96 and Bree Cheatham
had two goals apiece. Courtney King '97 had one goal and four assists for
the Huskies.

NU starting goaltender Kim Flatt made three saves and allowed no goals
while playing the first period. After the first intermission, Coach
Heather Linstad put Andrea Rocha '98 into the game. Rocha made 10 saves
and allowed Bowdoin's only goal (scored by Jane Kim '96). Dagan Klein '95
made 44 saves for the Polar Bears.

The 14 goals are the most ever allowed by a Bowdoin team in a single game.
The old record of 12 goals allowed was set by Princeton on December 8,
1989, and tied by Harvard on December 6, 1992.

Bowdoin's next game is at Colby in a non-league matchup on November 30 at
7:00 p.m.
