From Sid Hartman's column in the Star Tribune this morning:

Gophers hockey coach Doug Woog reports from the WCHA meeting in Miami that the
league will retain its playoff format for next season with the top four teams
getting home-ice advantage. Then the next round will shift to the St. Paul
Civic Center. The WCHA is not happy playing Sunday and Monday after the state
high school tournament. The league hopes it will be able to stage the
semifinals and final on Friday and Saturday...The Gophers will open the hockey
season Oct 18. They will play non-conference games at Alaska-Anchorage on Nov.
22-23 and in a four team tournament Dec. 20-21 at the Civic Center that will
include Boston College, Bowling Green, and Providence.

Larry Olimb, Ben Hankinson, Jason Miller and Grant Bischoff of the Gophers
recently returned from Europe where they played on a team that was 1-3 in the
Pravda Cup. Bischoff had a hat trick in the first game. Hankinson, Bischoff,
Olimb, and Travis Richards have been invited to play in the Olympic Festival
 at St. Cloud.

Does anyone else know who is coming to play in the Olympic Festival at St.
Cloud in June from your teams??

That's all from Minneapolis for now!
