Bowdoin opened its women's ice hockey season with a 13-1 victory at home
against Maine.
 
The 13 goals represent the most ever scored by a Bowdoin women's ice
hockey team. The old record of 12 goals was set against Wesleyan on
February 16, 1985.
 
Carey Jones '95 and Jane Kim '95 each had hat tricks for the Polar Bears.
Kim, Holly Shaw, and Hannah Core scored goals in a 41 second span of the
third period to break the Bowdoin record for fastest three goals scored
(the old record was 1:27 by Katie Allen, Carol Thomas, and Petra Eaton
against Yale on January 19, 1991).
 
The Polar Bears will open their ECAC league season by hosting Northeastern
on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. (Some players will be getting home late for
Thanksgiving, obviously.)
