Begging to differ here, the last player cut from the 1980 USA roster was
Les Auge from the University of Minnesota. And the reason it was *so* hard
for Brooks to cut Auge is because Brooks was the last player cut from the
USA roster in 1960, and he knew how it felt.
 
Also both Brooks and Auge attended St. Paul Johnson high school and grew up in
the same neighborhood.
