Carol Singer posted an article about the national youth hockey
championships. It should be noted that the tournaments mentioned are
Tier I tournaments -- basically all-star teams with players drawn
from a large geographic (or large urban) area.

The Tier II (basically teams with players from one smaller
community) tournaments were also held this weekend. The Tier II
national bantam tournament was won by the host team, Moorhead,
Minnesota. You can e-mail me privately if interested in more
complete results.

Obligatory college hockey content:

Moorhead's Bantam A team is the primary feeder team for the high
school, which this year is sending four seniors on to Division I
hockey:

Ryan Kraft to the University of Minnesota
Josh Arnold to the University of Minnesota, Duluth
Jeremy Gregoire and John Haberlach, both probably to the Air Force
  Academy.

Ex-UND coach Gino Gasparini was the featured speaker at the bantam
tournament banquet, exhibiting all the liveliness we have come to
expect from him. He said nothing, however, about the situation at
UND.
