What record is this, exactly?  According to the NCAA West Regional
Program (the only reference I have handy) Michigan won 3 straight in
51,52,53, and two in 55,56 and Denver won in 60,61 and 68,69.
 
Or is there some definition of "Modern Era" that I am not aware of?
(of course one could argue that 71&72 aren't modern either).
