This message is for Coach Walsh at UMaine-Orono. I apologize to Wayne in
advance for the waste of bandwidth, but I have left some phone messages
for Coach Walsh and thought I should use all possible avenues to contact him.
 
Coach, I'm a Merrimack grad working on a freelance story for their
college paper. What I wanted to do was put your coaching career,
especially at Maine, in perspective, especially in light of the media
overload (here and in the "traditional" ink-and-paper press) due to the
team's forfeits this year.
 
If you have a minute or two to write a short response to a few quick
questions, I would greatly appreciate it.
 
        *  How would you describe your experience of being the coach of a
           defending Hockey East and national championship team instead
           of an aspiring underdog?
 
        *  Some coaches become identified with the programs they coach:
           Snooks Kelley at BC, Bob Johnson at Wisconsin, Jack Parker at BU.
           Is this something you'd like to think has or will happen with you
           at Maine? Or do you have career aspirations beyond Maine- pro
           coaching jobs, perhaps?
 
        *  How do you think Maine's forfeits this year might affect recruiting
           efforts in the future?
 
        *  What was your reaction to the NCAA's decision not to include Maine
           in the tourney this year given the Black Bears' on-ice performance
           this year, which I believe was 3rd in Hockey East?
