As most of you know by now, all four home teams won their respective
series at home.

   CLARKSON vs. Yale

Clarkson put up a tremendous defensive effort in friday's game
blanking the Eli, 4-0. Chris Rogles was in goal and wasn't tested severly.
He made about 10 big stops and the rest were kinda easy (if there is such a
thing as an easy save) Meanwhile, Yale's wall (a.k.a. RAY LeTerneau) played
brialliantly. Clarkson shelled him with 18 shots in the first and 15 in the
second. He only let in one in the first and two in the second. The last goal
was a breakaway from center ice on a long pass. Ray tried to come out and
cut off the angle but "turtled" and couldn't get up. Kozak skated around him
for basically an empty net goal. Then Yale's head coach pulled him and his
replacement was perfect.

Saturday, Clarkson again came out with the guns blazing but they
left themselves open and as a result, Ray was perfect and Jason Currie (Clarkson
's other goalie) let one in. Yale skated well in the first and it was very even
although Clarkson outshot Yale three to one. Early in the second (:31) CU tied
it up and then proceeded to fade again. Currie played well and at the end of tw
two it was 1-1.
The third was a wild scoring fest with CU scoring, and Yale tying it
a minute later. Then Clarkson took control. Conroy blasted a shot past Ray and
then the dam opened and the goals came forth. One noteworthy item here,
Hugo Beleger, a Clakson sophomore, scored his 100th career point (61st of the
season) on the assist of an open netter at the end. When Hugo had scored his
99th, the entire crowd started chanting HUGO, HUGO, HUGO whenever he was on
the ice. Finally when he scored, Clarkson's bench cleared and congradulated
him. Clarkson received a minor for delay of game, but with the score 6-3
Coach Morris was all smiles.

SLU vs Vermont

St. Lawrence played their best game of the year on friday, blowing out
Vermont. The paper seemed the believe it was a fluke, but it sounded like SLU
had a night when everything went right. Sorry I don't more
informtion. I think the final score was 8-3 SLU. Don't quote me on that.

Saturday, SLU was back in normal form and lost the Vermont 3-1. SLU's
only goal came with 10 seconds left in the third. It was enought to give them
the momentum to score early in the mini-game (1:13) and then play keep-away
from Vermont.

HARVARD vs RPI

Harvard played their game on friday night, spending a lot of time in RPI
zone. They won easily and frustrated RPI's attacting line of Juneau and Coles.

Saturday night RPI was ahead for most of the game but it ended up tied 3-3.
The series therfore went to Harvard, without a minigame (Harvard 1-0-1). RPI
fans will most likely say they got screwed by the ECAC tiebreaker again but
doo-doo occurs.

CORNELL vs Colgate

I am not really sure what happened to Colgate in Lynah rink on either night
but Cornell didn't care. It was a slaughter and that about sums it up. When
I was in Walker Arena at the Clarkson/Yale game, they were anouncing scoces
and everytime they announced the score of Cornell/Colgate it was another goal
for Cornell. Anyway, Cornell should be wary of the next weekend blahs. It
can happen to anyone.

This sets up the ECAC final four at HOCKEYFEST in the Boston Garden next
Saturday night

Game 1 St. Lawrence vs CORNELL
   Game 2 Harvard vs. CLARKSON

(CAPS indicates simulated home team)

Anyway, I am looking forward to a good weekend of play-off hockey in Boston.
The CLarkson Band will be there in full battle dress so take this as offical
notice.
