    Well, well, well...
    The ECAC regular season is over and now the playoffs can start. What
happened this weekend was so strange that it defies explination other than
the old familiar saying that "on any given night any one team can beat another"
This is so true about the last weekend in ECAC play.

    The final standings are:

     ------------------------------------------------------------------------
     @Clarkson
     @Cornell
     @St. Lawrence
     @Harvard
      RPI
      UVM
     !Colgate
     !Brown
     !Yale
     !Brown
      ARMY
      DARTMOUTH

 (Sorry, Prinston is in the last playoff spot not Brown)

  This sets up the following matchups for the first round on /tuesday night

  Princeton vs COLGATE
  Yale vs BROWN

  Then next weekend, March 1 and 2,

  #5 RPI vs #4 Harvard
  #6 Vermont vs #3 St. Lawrence

 The other two weekend games depend on the outcome of Tuesdays games. The
lowest remaining seed will play Clarkson at Clarson while the other will play
Cornell at Cornell.

  Clarkson was able to use the "back door" to first place by tying Dartmouth
in the cloasing minutes of that game. Cornell lost out because they lost to bo
both RPI and UVM at home this weekend. SLU dropped to third because they lost
to Harvard and lost the ensuing tie-breaker to Cornell. Harvard won the tie
breaker between them and RPI so they getthe home ice next weekend.

   This is Clarkson's first ECAC title in the regular season since 1981.
I am sure Bill Fenwick will have words for Cornell's play at home this weekend
I will write up the Clarkson games from this weekend after I get a paper. I
went to both of them but I didn't take any notes.
