Rule 1-12 (90 NCAA Rule book; I think no change for '91 in either rule or
section) :
"The goalkeeper's privileged area is an area bounded in the rear by his end
of the rink, in front by an imaginary line connecting the special spots,
and on the sides by imaginary lines from the special spots to the end boards."

Rule 4-7c
"If a goalkeeper, in goal keeper's equipment, participates in the play in any
manner when he is beyond the center red line, a minor penalty shall be imposed
upon him. However, he may proceed without participating in the play to his
players' bench if it is beyond the center red line."

Rule 4-7d
"Within the rectangular area bounded in the rear by his end of the rink,
in front of an imaginary line connecting the special spots and on the sides
by imaginary lines from the special spots to the end boards, the goal keeper
has certain privileges (see Rink Diagram). When he is outside of this area,
however, he must play the puck in the same manner as that prescribed for
other players and is subject to the same penalties."

Rule 6-6b
"A major or minor penalty, at the discretion of the referee, shall be
imposed on a player who charges or otherwise fouls a goalkeeper while the
goalkeeper is within his goal crease. Exception: waving arms in front of
goalkeeper - minor."

Rule 6-6c
"A minor penalty shall be imposed on a player who body-checks a goaltender
in his privileged area."
