Here is a summary for the games played Friday night.

CLARKSON 7, Vermont 6

Upon entering Walker Arena last night, fans were given a memo that
stated that Clarskon had received a letter that morning saying that
there had been a bomb planted in the arena. The bomb was to go off
during a game. State and local police had searched the arena with dogs
before the game and secured the building. Fans were not allowed to
bring cameras or radios into the arena and were frisked as they
entered.

The playing of the national anthems was done differently last night.
A ROTC honor guard of four with the American and Canadian flags came on
to the ice. I've always been impressed with the fans singing the
Canadaian anthem as well as that for the US. Both anthems were sung a
bit louder last night. There was a moment of silence between the two.

Because there were 13 goals I'm not going to give all of the
details. The first period was a poor one for Clarkson. They didn't
control the play that well. UVM did not domoinate either. However UVM
was able to score first. Clarkson did come back and tie it up within a
minute though. Clarkson scored again before the end of the period.
Mark Green scored the first of his three goals. UVM out shot Clarkson
11-4. Currie did not face too many hard shots but played well.
Millham was in goal for UVM. Their goal was a pp goal.

Clarkson came out flat in the second period as well, but with a pp
goal, quickly picked their game up. The period was a lesson in how play
the pp. Clarkson was 3 for 3 on the pp. In the first pp, Millham had
to come up big numerous times to prevent goals. However, defenseman Guy
Sanderson was able to score. Clarkson had changed up its pp scheme.
They put Sanderson in the slot and winger Hugo Belanger on the point.
Sanderson was able to stay in front of the net occupying a UVM
defenseman and giving Millham a hard time. It worked well. Clarkson
got 5 goals in the second period. UVM was able to pick up two goals
each came after Clarkson went soft after scoring a goal. The score
could easily have been 12-3. Millham made some great saves. He stopped
a Cassleman-Green two on none, Kozak on a shorthanded solo break, Kozak
on an even strength solo break and several others. Kozak wound up
missing 4 great scoring chances. He has been struggling all season.

In the third period Clarkson thought that playing for 15 minutes in
the second period would be enough. UVM camne back and scored three
goals in the first 10 minutes of the third period before Clarkson called
a time out and regrouped just enough to hold on for the win. UVM was
really the moral victor, coming back with the last 4 goals and playing a
lot better than Clarkson in the first and third periods. John LeClair
had a hat trick for UVM.

SLU 6, RPI 3

This game was marred by 45 penalties, including 10 10 minute
misconducts being called. The game really got out of hand in the last
period. Both teams had 9 pp opportunities, including several 4 on 3s and
5 on 3s. SLU scored two 5 on 3 pp goals. SLU scored the first 2 goals
of the game and led 2-0 after the first peiod. RPI came back and scored
the next two in the second peiod. However SLU would also get two goals
in that period. RPI made it 4-3 on a sh goal by Woolford mid way
through the third period. SLU scored the final two goals. SLU ended up
with 47 shots for the game, really peppering Kennedy. Kuntar faced 31
shots. Juneau was held to a pp assist. I guess the game got pretty
ugly in the final 8 minutes, with RPI venting their frustration.
