I also didn't see the game..... the announcers on the radio didn't see
the ref raise his arm either way... (neither while Wisconsin played the
puck nor while NMU played the puck). The newspaper (sorry, can't
remember which one) reported that Berlew did indeed signal a penalty
while Wisconsin played the puck.   Since Wisconsin won anyway, it will
just be one of those things that Carey is teased about for the
rest of his career...
 
Apparently the NMU player was just a bit stunned too... he got the
puck, looked up, and the net was empty. He casually shot the puck
in...
