Not that it is likely to happen but if Stanford went D-1 in hockey they
would be inundated with hockey players who'd love to play there. Aside ,
etc.  The chance to go to one of the nation's finest schools in a remarkable
location would be hard to beat.  Also, they would be free from some of the
Ivy restrictions on admissions. According to information in our local paper
and the NY Times the SAT averages for the Duke and Stanford basketball teams
are below 1000.
