Just curious - how does the WCHL player from Anchorage who got arrested for
assault last night after spearing an opponent in the face while play was
going fit into your "controlled" violence theory.  (sorry for the run-on,
but the guy NEEDED lots of modifiers)
 
Sportscenter made it sound like the guy had been around long enough that he
should have known any understood "rules" if the players, in fact, abide by
such things.  Or is this the exception that proves the rule?  Apparently he
and the guy he speared were both enforcers who had gone at it several times
before.
