UNO's Tom Shaffer (a student at UNO prior the the hockey program's
inception) walked-on and played a regular shift briefly this year before
leaving school to accept an appointment to the Omaha Police Academy.
 
Defenseman John Rosso also walked-on, and is still with the team.
