The consensus seems to be that the CU/SLU vs. UVM/Dartmouth games have been
moved to UVM and Dartmouth. If anyone on this list has ties at UVM or
Dartmouth, I think it would be appropriate that the proceeds from these games
be donated to the disaster relief efforts throughout the North Country. I had
the opportunity to witness first hand, the destruction to this area of New
York. Imagine for a minute, over 25,000 downed power lines in New York alone,
over a million without power (some will be without power for 4-6 weeks),
freezing temperatures, illness from carbon monoxide poisoning from those using
stoves for heat, not a tree standing over 15-20' tall, and a high water table
leaving basements flooded everywhere.

Just to give you an idea of what's going on (it seems that even here in lower
NY state, the media has shunned this area). There are disaster relief efforts
from many of the following agencies: a statewide fire mutual aid involving
volunteer and paid organizations from as far as New York City (FDNY), a
statewide EMS mutual aid involving volunteer and paid organizations from
throught NY, the Red Cross, the NY Air National Gaurd, prisoners from area
prisons (Chateguay and Dannemora), and many, many other organizations. There
are many areas that still aren't even accessible. Many of these areas are
small towns with relatively little resources as it is.

Dan Olsen
