First period - no scoring

2nd Period - after killing off a couple of 5 on 3s Airforce surrendered 2 goals

3rd period - air force scored early to narrow the gap to 1
after the ref swallowed his whistle, CC got its 3rd goal with
about a minute left, and the final, meaningless goal in the
             last minute.

CC 0 2 2 4
AF 0 0 1 1

The game was a lot closer than the score indicated. It was essentially dead
even for most of the contest, and given a couple of bounces, the score could
have easily been 2-1 air force. Both goalies played outstanting hockey.
I had hoped to use the line about the game being closer than the score
indicated to describe a 2-2 overtime tie because the game really was that
close. There were lots of penalties, but very little chippiness, and only
one or 2 after the whistle scrums.

The referee (name unknown, but he'll officiate in the olympics) called a
close even consistent game for 55 minutes, and then seemed to lose his
whistle. I thought the change was to air force's detriment, but then i'm
biased.

if anybody wants me to type in the box scores from tomorrow's paper, let me
know, and i'll do it.
