Summary:
The first period seemed pretty well matched at the beginning. The White
tema captured a power play goal and then a quick followup to make it
3-1. It was really all they needed. The Red team played catch up from
there on out. At the beginning of the third period, they switched from
the starting goalies (D'Alessio and Crozier) to Coultes and Duffus.
Coultes played pretty well. The one goal on him was a blistering
breakaway shot from Manderville. Duffus was dissapointing. I hope he
improves a lot in JV, as we are going to need him next year, seeing as
D'Alessio and Crozier are both graduating.

Offense looked strong. The White first line was Dragon Manderville
and Hughes, D. D Hughes, a freshman showed a lot of poise playing
with those two. Second was Gauvin Williams Vogel (and a fair amount
of Hammond as well.) They looked pretty strong. Third line was
Bumstead, McPhee and Hannah, who showed a lot of talent for a young
line. Red first line was Hughes, R, Derraugh and Andison. They
skated well together (though I personally wonder why McCutcheon is
breaking up the Manderville Hughes connection.) Second was Fairman,
Nikolic and Nobel which scored no points, but showed a lot of talent.
Third was Davis, Hoekstra and German.

Defense was great to watch, White's Ratushny Vanini line was
unbelievable, and great to watch, behind them were Frauley, with four
points and Chambers. Chambers was another freshman who skated well.
Red had Dukovak Burke another strong combination and Dechamps Belzile
who rounded out the Defense.

Penalties were evenly matched with five apiece. The red even managed to
score some power play goals. (a personally frustrating experience last
year)
All in all I would say I am very pleased. Passing was excellent this
early in the season, and the game was an assurance to the preseason
ratings (for me.)

To Watch: Freshmen Todd Chambers, Geoff Bumstead, Dan Hughes and Sean
Hannah, all showed good skills tonight. I think we will be seeing a lot
more of them.
