I saw the game on T.V. and from what I could see, the questionable cross
checking call was more like a high stick from behind than a cross-check.
I don't think the penalty should of have been called since it didn't look that
bad.  As for the bench minor received after the cross-check, I don't know, the
announcers seemed just as confused about the call as I was.
 
As for the entire game, all I can say is that it was a rather poorly played
game by both teams.  Both teams had 2 on 1 and 3 on 1 opportunities on several
occasions and niether team was able to convert.  The breakdowns on defense may
have had to do with the fact that MTU's top defensemen when down in the 1st
period with some unknown injury and Wisconsin started 4 freshmen defensemen.
Go figure....
 
MTU's tying goal in the third was actually scored by a Badger defensemen as
Wisconsin's goaltender, Duane Derksen, tried to clear the puck after a save,
and knocked it off the skate of Strobl.  All in all a very wierd game!
