The following material is being forwarded from BLUE ICE's
1995-96 Annual. I invite everyone to submit an entry. It helps
to have a good reference guide (like BLUE ICE or the CCHA
Record Book) handy, but it's by no means required. To enter
via the internet, simply follow the directions/rules below and
message me at:

Please include your name and e-mail address, and will send
you contest updates over the internet as well.

Thanks!

SELECT A TEAM CONTEST
You had to know that it was only a matter of time before "fantasy"
leagues trickled down to the collegiate ranks. In that vein, BLUE
ICE brings you the CCHA Select A Team Contest. The official rules
are outlined below.

ROSTERS
Using the team rosters located in BLUE ICE, select a 20-man CCHA
squad within the confines of the following criteria:

   1. Select 12 forwards. Any combination of players listed as
C, F, LW or RW is acceptable. Miami's Pat Hanley (F/D)
          is considered a forward.
   2. Select 6 defensemen. UIC's Marcel Chagnon (D/F) is
          considered a defenseman.
   3. Select 2 goaltenders.
   4. Select a minimum of one player from every CCHA team.
   5. Select a maximum of three players from any given CCHA
          team.
   6. Select at least one freshman (FR).

STATISTICS
The following 1995-96 final regular season individual player
statistics for CCHA games only will be utilized. For forwards and
defensemen:

   1. Total goals.
   2. Total assists.
   3. Total penalty minutes.
   4. Composite +/- rating.

For goaltenders:

   5. Total points, defined as two points per win and one point
          per tie.
   6. Composite goals against average.
   7. Total saves.
   8. Total shutouts.

CONTEST SCORING
Contest points will be awarded in the following manner:

   1. Results from the first seven statistical categories above
will be tabulated and the entries will be ranked from
highest to lowest in each category except composite goals
against average, which will be ranked lowest to highest.
   2. First place in each category will have a point value
equal to the total number of entries. (E.g., if there
are 20 contest participants, first place will be worth 20
          points.)
   3. Last place in each category will be worth one point.
   4. Entries that are tied in a given category will be awarded
an identical point total based on the total point value
of the positions they occupy in the rankings. (E.g., if
there are 20 entries, a two-way tie for first place will
          be worth 19.5 points each.)
   5. Two contest bonus points will be awarded for each shutout
recorded by your selected goaltenders. Hence, the
relative importance of these bonus points is dependent on
          the number of entries.

TO ENTER
Write to:

BLUE ICE Select A Team Contest
     POBox 4343
     Ann Arbor MI 48106-4343

Include a sheet clearly identifying your 20-man roster, your name
and mailing address. Entries must be postmarked on or before
November 15, 1995 to be valid. Contest eligibility is not
restricted - everyone from the Commissioner of the CCHA to those
that have never seen a game are invited to enter. There is
absolutely no entry fee. This contest is 100% fun, 0% gambling.

WINNER AND NOTIFICATION
BLUE ICE will mail a minimum of two (mid-season and final)
standings reports to all contest participants. The overall winner,
or winners in the event of a tie, get to barter with the publisher
to determine their prize(s). A free subscription to BLUE ICE and
your name in print for dozens to read are obvious possibilities,
but more creative suggestions are highly encouraged.

Of course, BLUE ICE is obligated to make the first entry for all to
see. My selections are given below, with the relevant 1994-95 CCHA
