HOCKEY EAST PRESEASON COACHES POLL

Coaches were asked to rate teams in order of predicted finish, not
including their own teams.  1st was worth 7 pts, 2nd was worth 6 pts,
and so on down to 1 point for 7th.
 
(Yes, I know it doesn't work out because there should be a total of only
7 first place votes and so on.  Maybe the commish voted too, I don't know.)
 
HOCKEY EAST PRE-SEASON ALL-STAR TEAM
G Jeff Levy, New Hampshire.  Sophomore from Salt Lake City, UT.  1990-91
    Hockey East and All-New England Rookie of the Year with a 3.22 GAA and
    .906 save percentage, best in the nation.  Overall record was 15-7-2.
    Named to 1990-91 Hockey East All-Rookie and Second Teams.  Earned
    league Rookie of the Week honors a record-setting five times last year.
 
D Shaun Kane, Providence.  Senior from Holyoke, MA.  Had 5-20--25 last
    season.  Named to Second Team All-Hockey East and was a member of the
    US Select Team at the Pravda Cup Tournament.
 
D Tom Dion, Boston University.  Senior from Massena, NY.  Posted 6-14--20
    in 40 games last season after coming back from knee surgery in 1989-90.
    Played for US National Junior Team.  Named to the 1991 Hockey East
    Academic Honor Roll.
 
F Rob Gaudreau, Providence.  Senior from Cranston, RI.  Led the Friars in
    1990-91 with 34-27--61.  One of two unanimous picks.  Named All-New
    England and All-Hockey East last season.  Needs 18 goals to become
    PC's all-time leading goal scorer.  A member of the US Select Team at
    the Pravda Cup Tournament.
 
F Jean-Yves Roy, Maine.  Junior from Rosemere, QUE.  The other unanimous
    pick.  Led Maine in scoring with 37-45--82 enroute to being named a
    Hobey Baker Finalist.  A 1991 First Team All-America and All-Hockey
    East Team member.  Had 20 power play goals and 28 multiple-point games.
    In fourth place on Maine's career scoring list and was a member of
    the Canadian Olympic program in the summer, released on the final cut.
 
F Jim Montgomery, Maine.  Junior from Montreal, QUE.  Was the fourth-leading
    scorer in the nation with 24-57--81.  A Second Team All-America and
    All-Hockey East selection.  The leading penalty killer on a unit which
    had an 82% success rate.  Had 25 multiple-point games and tied the
    Maine consecutive game scoring record with 23 games.  Named to the
    Hockey East Academic Honor Roll in 1991.
