Michigan vs. Michigan State, Oct. 25 at MSU's Munn Arena (6,255) and Oct. 26
at Michigan's Yost Arena (7,206).  Friday's game will be aired live by PASS
starting at 7:00 p.m.  Coaches:  MICH - Red Berenson has compiled a 141-133-15
overall mark in seven years at the helm of the Wolverines.  MSU - Ron Mason,
the second winningest coach in NCAA history, has an overall mark of 626-268-35
in 25 years with a 12-year mark of 337-158-21 at MSU.  Series:  In a series
that began in 1925, Michigan leads 98-88-5.  Michigan was 2-1-1 vs. the
Spartans last year.  Last Meeting:  Feb. 16 at Joe Louis, Michigan State won
6-2.  Last Meeting at MSU:  Nov. 10, 1990, the teams skated to a 3-3 (ot) tie.
 Denny Felsner scored twice for Michigan.  Last Meeting at MICH:  Nov. 9,
1990, Michigan won 4-2 with Steve Shields making 30 saves.
 
Lake Superior at Ferris State, Oct. 25-26 at FSU's Ewigleben Arena (2,573).
Coaches:  LSSU - Jeff Jackson, the 1990-91 CCHA Coach-of-the-Year, compiled a
37-5-4 mark in his first season.  FSU - Bob Mancini recorded a 23-14-5 mark in
one season at the helm of the Bulldogs.  Series:  The Lakers hold a 32-24-4
lead in the series which began in 1977.  LSSU went 2-1-1 vs. FSU last year.
Last Meeting:  Jan. 4-5 at LSSU, the Lakers won 6-4 and 6-2.  Sandy Moger had
three goals and Kurt Miller added two markers in the series.  Last Meeting at
FSU:  Nov. 23-24, 1990, the teams skated to a 4-4 (ot) tie on Friday, while
Ferris State won 4-1 on Saturday.  Tom O'Rourke had a goal each night for the
Bulldogs.
 
Bowling Green vs. Ohio State, Oct. 25 at the OSU Ice Rink (1,410) and Oct. 26
at the BGSU Ice Arena (5,000).  Coaches:  BGSU - Jerry York has compiled a
421-276-26 overall mark in 19 years with a 12-year mark of 296-189-23 at
Bowling Green.  OSU - Jerry Welsh has a 16-year overall mark of 300-285-42 at
his alma mater.  Series:  Bowling Green leads 68-31-2 in a series that began
in 1969.  Last Meeting:  Feb. 23 at OSU, the Buckeyes won 3-0 as Mike Bales
recorded the shutout.  Last Meeting at BGSU:  Feb. 22, the Falcons won 7-3
with Martin Jiranek and Jeff Wells each scoring twice.
 
Western Michigan at UIC, Oct. 25-26 at the UIC Pavilion (8,802).  Coaches:
WMU - Bill Wilkinson has a nine-year coaching mark of 182-170-20.  UIC - Larry
Pedrie recorded a 13-23-2 mark in his first season.  Series:  The Broncos hold
a 41-15-2 advantage in the series which began in 1970.  Last Meeting:  Jan. 19
at WMU, the Broncos won 7-6 as Byron Witkowski scored twice.  Last Meeting at
UIC:  Jan. 18, the Flames skated to a 7-4 victory with Dominic Dunlap scoring
twice.
 
Miami at Alaska-Fairbanks, Oct. 25-26 at the UAF Patty Center (1,331).
Coaches:  Miami - George Gwozdecky has an overall mark of 84-83-9 in five
years, with a 17-53-7 mark at Miami in two seasons.  UAF - Don Lucia has an
overall mark of 73-58-7 in four years.  Series:  The Redskins won the only
previous meeting by a 5-3 score over the Nanooks on Jan. 2, 1985 in Oxford.

Welsh garners career win #300:  Ohio State University head coach Jerry Welsh
reached the 300 career win plateau with the Buckeyes 6-3 defeat of Kent on
Saturday night at the OSU Ice Rink.  Welsh is now tied with Dartmouth's Edward
Jeremiah (1937-67) for 23rd place on the NCAA All-time coaching win list.
 
CCHA Start Times:  All CCHA games will begin at 7:30 p.m. except those at UIC
and Michigan State which will start at 7:00 p.m.
 
All statistics from the Lake Superior contest this past Friday against
Laurentian will count.  NCAA teams are allowed just one exhibition contest per
year and the Lakers will entertain TJ Vitkovice from Czechoslovakia on Monday,
January 6th at the Norris Center.
