Tom Rowe asked:

> Does anyone on the list care about NCAA-III hockey?

Well I do, and I know of at least a few others here in the east that have an
interest as well. I follow Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) hockey, and
I'm glad to here from someone in the Western region of Div. III hockey, as the
only time I ever hear much about western teams is during playoff time.

RIT and Stevens Point have developed a bit of a rivalry, and since my brother
graduated from Point, I have a personal rivalry to contend with as well. The
two teams play in Wisconsin Jan 3/4.

I'd love to hear any and all information about the western Div. III teams, and
this list is the logical spot. In fact, I'll even start the dialogue with the
following observation/question:

When RIT hosted Stevens Point in the 1989 Finals, I was somewhat irked to see
that Point played most teams four times each, and thus "padded" their win
column by sweeping some obviously inferior teams. (That's the way it looked at
first - it turned out that the Pointer were a very good team and probably
earned most of their victories.) If winning was all that mattered (you mean it
isn't), then I'd love to see RIT play the likes of St. Bonaventure four times
because the Bonnies have been a very weak team the last few years. Instead,
the RIT schedule contains either one or two games per opponent (tournaments
excluded). Is that just because of the "league" schedule? How may teams are
in the division that Point is in? I believe that there are 12 or more teams in
ECAC West (RIT, Elmira, etc.), with probably a similar number in the ECAC East
(Babson, North Adams, etc.). Just curious...
