After the last few days of hearing people complain about one measly game
away from home (Minn-Wisc), I haven't heard about the problems here at
Clarkson.
Last year was our last year at Walker Arena. It was built in 1952 and holds
probably just as much history as Mariucci. But this year, the Golden Knights
will be in Clarkson Arena. For all of you statisticians out there, Clarkson
was undefeated at home last year. Now we have to face a WHOLE season in a new
arena.
I don't want any hate mail here or anything, but how can you guys be complain-
ing. Sure it's a big rivalry, but CU doesn't complain about this sort of stuff.
The biggest part of Walker Arena was the huge bell located in back of the
visiting goalie, which served as a pretty good intimidation factor. Not to
mention how any seat was at the worst six rows from ice level.
With the new arena, who knows what the bell will do, or how much louder the
fans will scream. But the bottom line is this: If you're a nationally ranked
team, doesn't that mean you should be able to win ANYWHERE? 8*)
