BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY -- Senior center Brian Holzinger recorded his
98th career goal in Sunday's win at Ohio State.  Only eight Falcons have
tallied 100 career goals:  Jamie Wansbrough-127, Mike Bartley-118, Brian Hills-
116, Mike Hartman and George McPhee-114, Nelson Emerson-112, John Markell-102
and Greg Parks-101.
 
FERRIS STATE UNIVERSITY -- Senior left wing Mike Kolenda recorded his seventh
goal and 18th point of the season on Saturday.  His season highs are nine goals
and 21 points set as a sophomore (1992-93).  Ferris State's magic point total
for sixth place is two against Illinois @ Chicago.
 
UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT CHICAGO -- Senior center Chris MacDonald tied a
school record with four goals Friday against Miami.  Only two other Flames have
accomplished this feat.  Ray Staszak scored four goals twice (10-19-84 at Ohio
State in a 5-4 (OT) win and 10-26-84 vs. Western Michigan in a 7-6 victory),
while Darryl Noren scored four goals on October 20, 1989 in a 9-4 loss to
Michigan.
 
LAKE SUPERIOR STATE UNIVERSITY -- Lake Superior has a 32-4-1 record in March
and April since 1991.  The Lakers are 28-3-1 in March and 4-1 in April.
Sophomore center Gerald Tallaire has 14 points on seven goals and seven assists
in his last 11 games.  He has four multiple-point games including a three-point
game at UIC on February 18th and has been held without a point only twice
during this stretch.
 
MIAMI UNIVERSITY -- Freshman defenseman Dan Boyle has six assists in the last
five games to raise his season total to 16.  Boyle is second among freshmen
defensemen with 24 points (behind WMU Steve Duke's has 30 points), while his
eight goals is tied-for-fifth among all blueliners).
 
UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN -- Junior center Kevin Hilton has 14 points in his last
nine games on seven goals and seven assists.  During this stretch, he has three
multiple-point games including a three-point and a four-point contest and has a
plus/minus rating of +8.  Hilton has 17 goals and 27 assists for 44 points this
season.  His 17 goals surpasses his season best of 16 which he scored during
his freshman campaign.
 
MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY -- Senior left wing Rem Murray has 26 points on 11
goals and 15 assists in the last 17 games with two power play goals, two game-
winning goals and a plus/minus rating of +11.  He has had at least one point in
14 of the last 17 games including seven multiple-point games.
 
UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME -- Fighting Irish penalty killers have killed 28 of
the last 30 opponent power play opportunities.  For the season, UND has killed
166 of 205 power play chances for a success rate of 81% (fifth in the CCHA)
compared to last year's percentage of 74.8 (last in the CCHA).
 
OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY -- Senior right wing Sacha Guilbault has one goal and
five assists for six points in the last three games including back-to-back two
assist games on February 18th vs. Ferris State and February 24th at Bowling
Green.
 
WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY -- Senior right wing Brian Gallentine had two
assists in Saturday's 4-4 overtime tie at Lake Superior and needs three points
to reach the century mark.  In his Bronco career, Gallentine has 49 goals and
48 assists for 97 points.
 
UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA FAIRBANKS -- The Nanooks will travel to the CCHA's 10th
place team (Ohio State) for a single preliminary playoff game on Tuesday, March
7.  If UAF wins, the first four CCHA teams have the "right to decline" to play
UAF.  If the 10th place team (Ohio State) wins, they will travel to Michigan
for the on-campus best two-of-three series.
 
CCHA - DID YOU KNOW? -- That current Alaska Fairbanks head coach Dave Laurion
backstopped the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame to three straight CCHA playoff
wins during the 1982 CCHA playoffs.  UND lost in the championship game 4-1 to
Michigan State.  Ron Scott was the winning netminder, while Tom Anastos scored
the game-winning goal.
 
CCHA AWARDS BANQUET-- The annual CCHA Awards Banquet will be held on Friday,
March 17th in the Columbus Grand Ballroom of the Westin Hotel in downtown
Detroit.  Tickets ($25.00 each) are available by calling the league office at
(313) 764-2590 with a limited number available at the door the night of the
banquet.  Social hour begins at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner and the program.
