Koenig is a definite candidate for Rookie of the Year, but
not a lock by any means. Jason Elliott has put up pretty good
numbers for a bad Cornell team - especially when you consider
that he is facing over 36 shots on goal per game (compared to
Koenig's 26). Clint Owen has given SLU some good outings and
has already been rookie of the week a couple of times. The
coaches are likely to remember his name (which is about the
extent of the thought process that goes into voting).

As for forwards, Ryan Smart, Tim Loftsgard, Paul DiFrancesco
Bob Cancelli and Matt Brush are all contenders.

I'm sure no one wants to play Union in the quarterfinals, but
I doubt that Clarkson, Harvard, Brown or RPI is that excited
about playing Princeton, Yale, Colgate, or Vermont, either. The
simple truth is that the league is so balanced this year it is
hard to consider anyone a lock to get to Lake Placid. Clarkson
is the only team with enough talent to stand alone, but the
Golden Knights are hardly the model of consistency.
