FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MTU AT HOME TO HOST ALASKA ANCHORAGE THIS WEEKEND
Two-game set marks the last regular-season home series of '94-95

This Week: The Michigan Technological University hockey team will host the
University of Alaska Anchorage this weekend in a two-game Western
Collegiate Hockey Association series. Opening faceoff is set for 7:35 p.m.
(EST) Friday (Feb. 10) and 7:05 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 11). Both contests will
be staged at the MacInnes Student Ice Arena (4,200) on the MTU campus.

On Radio: All Michigan Tech games can be heard live on WZRK radio, 93.5 FM.
Bob Olson, the dean of broadcasters in the WCHA, is in his 24th season as
the voice of the Huskies. Volunteer assistant coach Darcy Way is back for
his fifth year providing color commentary.

The Records: MTU is 13-12-4 on the season overall and 10-11-3 in the WCHA.
The Huskies gained one point in a home series with Minnesota last weekend.
Alaska Anchorage, which split a home series with league-leading Colorado
College last weekend, is 10-16-0 in all games and 9-15-0 in the WCHA.

The Coaches: Bob Mancini (Colorado College, 1982) is in his third year
behind the bench at MTU. He owns a 43-54-14 record at the school and in
four-plus years as a college head coach sports a 79-85-25 mark. Kelvin
"Brush" Christiansen (Alaska-Methodist, 1972) is in his 16th season at the
helm of the Alaska Anchorage hockey program. He owns a 277-197-26 career
mark.

The Series: Michigan Tech and Alaska Anchorage renew a series that began
during the 1988-89 campaing. The meetings will be the 10th and 11th all
time, with the Seawolves holding a 6-2-1 advantage. Earlier this season in
Anchorage, Alaska, the teams split a pair of games, with MTU winning the
opener by a 3-2 count (Dec. 9) and the Seawolves taking the finale, 4-2
(Dec. 10).

Coach Mancini on the Alaska Anchorage Series: "I thought we played two
excellent games up in Anchorage earlier this year, however, we were only
able to get one win. It is critical that we are mentally focused on this
weekend's series and know the importance of taking care of our home ice."

Coach Mancini on the Minnesota Series: "It was a disappointing weekend.
We'll learn from it, however, and move forward."
