Mara McAdams '96 (Chicago, Ill.) scored one goal and added two assists
to lead Yale University (1-13, 1-7 ECAC) to a 4-2 victory over Bowdoin
College (1-10, 0-8 ECAC) in an ECAC Women's Ice Hockey League game played
Friday afternoon in Dayton Arena.
The victory snaps a 20-game Yale losing streak that dated back to
last season. The last Yale victory came on January 22, 1994, against
Williams College (6-3).
Wendy Yoshino '98 (Winnipeg, Manitoba), Eve Rose '95 (Scarsdale,
N.Y.), and Katherine Westgate '96 (Roslindale, Mass.) scored the other
Yale goals. Caroline Haskell '97 (Dedham, Mass.) made 28 saves before
being relieved by Laurie Belliveau '98 (Manchester, Mass.) with 8 minutes,
47 seconds remaining in the third period.
Michel Phaneuf '96 (Hudson, N.H.) and Sarah Mazur '98 (Newton,
Mass.) had Bowdoin's scores in the contest. Dagan Klein '95 (New York,
N.Y.) made 42 saves in the game -- a Bowdoin-record seventh time this
season that Klein has recorded 40 or more saves in a game. The Polar Bears
have now lost 10 straight contests.
