I talked with someone at the NCAA about this a while
back. 1994-5 is the last year of Division II hockey
(for a while). Yes, there is one more tournament.
 
As it looks now, all of the current D2 teams will be "forced"
to play in Division I for ice hockey. Back when D2 was last
dismantled. teams were given the choice of competing for
the D1 title or the D3 title, or neither. There won't be
a choice this time, it appears.
 
Get ready for having some *20* independents in D1 next year....
