The annual Green and White Game, the intrasquad public "practice" for Michigan
State, takes place tonight at Munn Arena. Spartan fans will get their first
chance to see the 1
994-95 Spartans, which have a number of returning lettermen
and a host of new faces (8 freshmen and 2 transfers). Before the game at 7pm
tonight, MSU Coach Ron Mason will be honored as the winningest coach in college
hockey history (Ron has 698 [or 699] wins and should reach 700 before the end
of the month).

The rosters for tonight's game:
                Green White
            Chad Alban G Mike Buzak
            John Wiedenbach G Taylor Gemmel
            Chris Smith D Bart Vanstaalduinen
            Ryan Fleming D Kevin Harper
            Tyler Harlton D Chris Slater
            Jon Gaskins D Chris Sullivan
            Steve Suk F Anson Carter
            Rem Murray F Steve Guolla
            Dean Sylvester F Brian Clifford
            Steve Ferranti F Sean Berens
            Matt Albers F Josh Wiegand
            Michael Watt F Brian Crane
            Taylor Clark F Bill Lehrer
            Richard Keyes F Sean LeFere
            Tony Tuzzolino F Clark Chasten

Berens, Watt, Keyes, Harlton, Gaskins, Harper, and Alban are freshmen (OK, make
that 7 freshmen, I can't count) while Sylvester and Clark are transfers. Leh-
rer, LeFere and Chasten are walk-ons.

The Spartans open the regular season on October 15 at home in a non-conference
matchup with Bowling Green. The first CCHA game for Michigan State will be on
October 21 at home against Illinois-Chicago.
