Traditions like this are (sometimes) great and real crowd pleasers.  I'm sure
you've heard of the North Dakota tradition of throwing dead Gophers, Badgers
and other animals on the ice when those teams are in town.  Without sounding
too "politically correct," I'm not exactly in favor of killing an animal for
that cause.  (I've always wondered where one goes to get a Badger.)  However,
make sure the object is big enough to see.  I've seen a player's career ended
when he skated over coins that had melted into the ice because they were warm
from a persons hand.  No one wants that sort of a tradition, or one that
may affect the outcome of the game.  (Boy, I sound like your mom, don't
I?!?)  You may also want to be selective because American Indian mascots are
already a controversy. . . .you may start a bigger one, depending on what you
choose to throw.  Then I'd have to send you to your room.  Best of luck!
