Mike caught a mistake in the statistics I posted about college hockey
players in the Stanley Cup finals. He was sure he remembered that Craig
MacTavish played some games at U. Lowell. I went back and checked and
_The National Hockey League Official Guide & Record Book 1993-94_ said
he'd played 0 games, so I checked _The Sporting News Complete Hockey
Book. 1993-94 edition_ and it gave a different story altogether. Here's
what the NHL Guide missed for Craig MacTavish:

1977-78 U. Lowell - 24 games (26g, 19a, no PIM listed)
1978-79 U. Lowell - 31 games (36 g, 52a, no PIM listed)

1977-78 ECAC Div II Rookie of the Year
        1977-78 ECAC Div II All-Star 2d team
1978-79 ECAC Div II Player of the Year
1978-79 NCAA All-America East (college Div.) 1st team
        1978-79 ECAC Div II All-Star 1st team

For Brian Leetch, they also missed that in 1986-87 he was on the Hockey
East All-Freshman Team.

For Mike Richter, they missed that in 1985-86 he was on the WCHA All-Star
2d team.

Thank to Mike for catching the mistake. I guess I can't count on the NHL
to have complete information in their guide.

Carol
