Critical Issues in Digital Citizenship...What Every
Teacher/Principal/Parent/Student Should Know
Free to ACTEM Members or ACTEM Institutional Members; recommend that
schools bring a team of 2-5 people consisting of teachers and/or
administrators, a parent or two, and a student or two.
Workshop leader: Ed Brazee
Date: May 12, 2011 Sign up Deadline May 7th.
Time: 4:00 - 7:00 pm
Location: Alumni Room in the Campus Center at UMPI - Presque Isle
Workshop Description: Dealing with cyberbullying is often the focus in
many schools. However, larger issues of digital citizenship—
responsibilities of students' (digital) lives, Internet safety, digital
footprints and reputation management, using social media safely,
responsibly, and ethically, and students using the Internet for learning
and doing good—are also critical.
We will discuss such digital citizenship topics...to get participants to
change their online behavior and image if needed, to help
teachers/students/parents conceptualize a digital citizenship plan for
their schools, and to provide excellent resources on all aspects of
digital citizenship.
