Please note that Ohio State's games are exhibitions. Because
of a *league* rule that states games played during a holiday
foreign tour are not counted, these games will not be considered
the real thing. Ohio State is using an NCAA waiver that allows
them to play more than the 34-game limit this year. A Division
I team can make a trip like this every two or four years--I
can't remember which.

Union may be invoking the same rule for their trip to Concordia,
since these two games put them over their 25 (self-imposed Division II?)
limit. But I don't know if the ECAC has the same rule as the CCHA,
so their games might count.

There is another NCAA waiver for playing in Alaska; the CCHA says those
games count. There is yet another NCAA waiver for hosting a foreign
team; the CCHA says those count, too. Another waiver is for playing
in the Hall of Fame game; the WCHA teams involved always call it an
exhibition.

Go figure.
