There is also a two page article on Kariya written by Matt Sullivan of
Hicksville NY. The November issue of CS had ZERO hockey coverage, so I
don't recommend subscribing for the hockey content.

I will make a few comments regarding Gilbert's CCHA picks:

-- Miami #3...is this guy nuts? Miami is better than their 1-3 record
(they have a tough early season schedule), but they are not #3.
-- I could swear that there is a decent hockey team in East Lansing MI.
 Apparently Gilbert doesn't think so.
-- This is the second time I've seen Shulmistra picked as the #1
goaltender in the CCHA. 'Tis not the case. (I'm not saying that Shields
is, just that Shulmistra isn't.) In fact, for some reason unknown to me he
has only started two of the Redskins' game thus far. Can someone at MU fill
me(us) in on the goaltending situation? I understand wanting to develop
Deschambeault (sp?), but why not go with your #1 man against LSSU and MSU?
Miami had 3 CCHA losses last season. They have 3 CCHA losses to date this
season. Their tough early season schedule and *apparent* casual approach to
it may haunt them. Those games were as important as any in late February or
early March will be.
-- Let's not forget a pair of fellows named Holzinger and Pronger at BGSU.
Holzinger should be first team. Beddoes is definitely second team. I like
David Oliver (who doesn't like a 35 goal man) and the recognition he is
receiving, but I do believe that Wiseman does more for us. (Truth be known,
I think that Mike Knuble is the most dominating player among the
Wolverines.)
