I've seen penalties called on two different players of the same team at the
same time for different infractions a couple of times in Hockey East. I don't
remember exactly what they were for, but they were pretty obvious. Granted,
most refs don't call multiple penalties when the usual scuffling/head-banging
occurs after the play, but if one player trips an opponent, and then another
player hits a fourth player after the whistle, why shouldn't both penalties be
called? Why should it be thought so unusual as to provoke a posting to this
list?
