Au contaire monfraire, UNH does control its own desity, because, although
it can only gain six of the magic number of seven points on its own, the
Wildcats still face BU once more. If UNH wins all of its remaining games,
that means that BU will not win all of its remaining games and therefore,
UNH does control its own destiny. Winning all 3 WILL give them the title.

But, Aye! here's the rub! BU controlls its own destiny as well!!! If BU
wins all four of its remaining games it posts 40 points and UNH can only
get 38 because BU winning all 4 means UNH lost at least once (to BU).

So, both teams in fact control their own fate in the Hockey East playoff
picture. Isn't America wonderful!

Who just didn't mind missing the Maine weekend to accompany the No. 23 UMass
softball team to its season opener Friday in Phoenix, especially after he
heard the scores, but does look forward to seeing one of these two
fine teams on March 7.
