Thanks to all of you who responded to my last Score-O post. I thought you
might like to know the results of the Score-O contest at tonight's BGSU -
Michigan game. My daughter Clarice (age 7) was the first contestant. After
slapping her first shot wide from just inside the blue line, she moved up to
just behind the faceoff hash marks, and wristed the second shot dead center for
a goal! She won a $100 gift certificate to J. C. Penney's. Whoo-hoo!

Former Wolverine Ron Sacka was the third contestant (how did HE get picked?).
He was forced to go back to the far blue line for his attempts (both misses).
Ron told Clarice before they went on the ice that he would buy her a hot dog
and pop if she scored and he didn't. He paid up, and bought a pop for my son
Trevor too, and posed for pictures with the kids. Thanks Ron!

Sacka plays in my adult hockey league here in Ann Arbor. Not long ago his team
was without their regular goaler, so he strapped on the pads against my team.
After beating him on numerous occasions like a rented mule to take a 5-2 lead,
our 7 man squad finally tired, as John Arnold (another former Wolverine--John
was on last year's championship team) and company took it to us for a 10-5 win.
 Oh well.

Oh yeah, the Wolverines beat the Falcons 6-1. Botterill with the hat trick.
