Does anyone else think that maybe, just maybe, the NC$$ would have let
Maine be eligible for this season's tournament if Shawn Walsh had been
fired outright last December rather than just suspended?

Have no pity for Walsh; he'd have been just fine no matter what Maine
had chosen to do. If he had been fired, no other college would have
touched him with the proverbial ten-foot pole, but right now, he'd be
prepping for at least an AHL or IHL training camp.

As someone mentioned in reference to Jerry Tarkanian, the NCAA does
seem to be gun-shy about going after coaches. The post-season ban may
well have been handed down because Walsh is still around.

The scholarships are gone; they were taken away from the other sports,
not just hockey (I think). IF the post season ban applies only to
hockey, then there's a good chance that it was added to punish Walsh.

The only way to regain respect, Shawn, is to stay with the program
until all the punishments have been served and keep the program headed
in the right direction. You proved you can win the easy way; now try
     it the right way.

Currently frustrated to live in Maine,
