I can't speak for the other conferences, but the highest number in the CCHA
in its rather abbreviated history of having at least eight teams in the play-
offs, is 2 in 1987.  #6 seed Ohio State upset #3 Lake Superior at the Soo in
3 games, #5 Western Michigan upset #4 Illinois-Chicago in the Windy City in
3 games.  And #1 Bowling Green had to go 3 games to beat #8 Ferris State.
Only #2 Michigan State got to the semis in 2, beating #7 Michigan (boy, that
's got a nice ring to it :-)).  MSU went on to win the title that year, beating
Bowling Green in OT (see, even 9 years ago we needed OT to beat BG, something
that's become all too common in the last few years).

Since it was mentioned here, I'm trying to get the results of the Regular
Season Prediction Contest out by Monday.  As you may have figured, there won't
be a Conference Tournament Contest this year (too much work), but I'm still
planning a NC$$ Tournament Contest, beginning March 18.  (Have to make sure
the secretary gets enough naps between now and then.)
