If I'm not mistaken only one 5 minute overtime in the first 2 games.

        In the scenario you have team A wins after Game 2.  Only 3 points are
needed for an overall victory.  (Win=2, Tie=1)  However, if the series points
are matched going into the third game (team A wins, team B wins, or 2 ties)
the third game is played to completion. I believe with 20 minute OT's.  Perhaps
shoot-outs if it goes long enough(speculation).  But in any case, only 3 points
are needed to win the series.
 
        Now a new question:
        Have any of the series since this 3point, 3game playoff started tied in
the first two games? I know the split win is pretty common.  Also does anyone
know for sure the 3rd game completion rules?
