This is an unfortunate time for the University of Maine Hockey team. This
is a team, an NCAA tournament team year after year, will be prevented
from participation due to rules violations which many of the players on
the team weren't a part of, but the school bears the burden and must
follow the rules. These players, the ones who were no part of the problem
and the fans, are the innocent victims of the sanctions placed on Maine.

Shawn Walsh will have to be without his team for a year, that's probably
the hardest on the freshman, who were recruited to this school, to play
for him, and will be without him for one of the most important times of
learning in college hockey. However, this will only make Maine a better
team in years to come. This year will grow up from this and learn to win
without their coach. It's a tough job but this is a team which will win
alot of games this year. And hopefully, will leave Walsh in great
position for the NCAA tournament next year.
