Mike points out that he attended neutral games with BU fans for three
consecutive nights. I want to point out something for list people
outside of Boston. Unlike most fans in all sports, I find that BU fans
love *hockey* and will take the opportunity to see neutral games when the
opportunity affords itself. While some have lamented the lack of fans at
the Brown Friday game or the BC game, for example, BU fans were to be
found at neutral sites.

One reason for this is that being interested in BU hockey carries no
cachet at BU. This is a true story dating back to when my wife was my
girlfriend, and before I got her interested in college hockey. She
worked at the closed carrier station at BU, WTBU. A sports program
followed her and Jake Danby, a star on the hockey team, came by to be
interviewed. The sports person had not shown up yet. Jake asked my wife
to let him know "I'm here." Andrea responded "who are you?" and Jake
gave his name and was a bit flustered when Andrea still asked for what
reason he had arrived at the station. If, say, David Emma, did the same
at BC it would be *much* less likely the same thing would happen. The
only reason I know this story is because Danby was a bit unnerved and
Andrea knew I went to the hockey games and wanted to know if his
discomfort was warranted.
